May Open Try-Outs
Hey! Wanna enjoy the thrill of speeding around a track on 8 wheels? Throwing a hip check and getting some of that stress you've built up during a rough work week? How about getting fit doing something fun and exciting? Or are you just looking to help out and be part of the ever growing, fast action, family friendly sport that is Roller Derby?
Well, we're looking for a few good Women, Men and Kids to be a part of the Southland Slashers family.
This month, the Slashers are holding open try-outs for Women, Men and Kids (10-17). We're looking for people who are excited as we are to be a part of the amazing sport of Flat Track Roller Derby. Our league not only needs motivated skaters for our team but also anyone intrested in Refereeing, participating as a non-skating official and volunteers to help us with bouts and other events throughout the year.
Adult and Junior Skater Open Tryouts
Where? Skateland Recreation Center, 25334 West Eames Street, Channahon, IL 60410
When? May 15th, 2013. 6:00pm
Bring your own skates or rent skates at the rink. Gear (knee pads, elbow pads, helmet, wrist guards and mouth guard) are recommended but not required.
We are also looking for Junior and Adult Referees, non-skating officials and volunteers!!!

Note: Skateland is located right next to Channahon Lanes bowling alley. Look for the bowling alley sign at the entrance. Skateland parking is immediately to the left as you turn off of US Rt 6/Eames Street.
